Setting up Your Email Account.

"So you have decided to go with a software program, over Webmail."

Whatever software program that you go with, they will all have similar menus for setting up an email account.

You may find these settings under menus such as "Tools" or "Preferences" , but you are looking for somethings that deals with setting up a  "New Account".   Maybe there is an "Add" button to add a new mail account.  It will ask you for a name.  This is the name that you want someone to see when your email is sent to them.  If your name is John Smith, then you can put "J. Smith"  there, or "John Smith", or "John and Wife", if you wish them to see that.  Then it may ask you for your email address.  That would be whatever we have set you up with.  It should look something like "yourname@watersidewireless.net".  Then it may ask you for the account type.  Make that  "POP3".  Then it may ask you for the incoming mail server.  That will be "mail.watersidewireless.net".  The outgoing mail server will be "smtpout.secureserver.net".  You need to look for a setting that says, "My outgoing server requires authentication", and be sure that it is enabled.  Be sure anything regarding "SSL Authentication", is not enabled.  Where you put in your user name, make sure the extension @watersidewireless.net is on the end,  eg.  jsmith@watersidewirelesss.net, not just the jsmith.  Then you will need to put in your password that you told us you want to use at the time we set up your account.  Please write this down somewhere, it is not up to Waterside Wireless to remember your passwords.  That just about completes the setup for an email account.  If you have any problems, give us a call, and we can try to help troubleshoot your problem.

For those techies that just need the basics.

Account type: POP3
Incoming mail server: mail.watersidewirless.net
Outgoing mail server: smtpout.secureserver.net
Outgoing mail server requires authentication
No SSL
Outgoing mail port: 25
Incoming mail port: 110

We hope that this helps you get your email up and running, but if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call us.
